| Wetsuits, Drysuits & Undersuits: Discuss Which undersuit? in the Dive Kit and Equipment forums: Off to Seaskin in the morning to get measured for a new membrane. Q - Whats my best bet for ... |

| I use arctics under my seaskin membrane. Just the arctics are fine down to about 12 degrees, below this I add a Merino wool base layer, then toasty down to 7. I prefer the flexibilty of the arctics to a romper, and need less lead also.

| I am not as well hard as the other two before me But, I prefer the flexibility of a two piece over a one piece as well. I use Artics with a thin base layer. I found it gave me decent heat, good degree of movement and less bulk to hold air in your suit. A descent 250g thinsulate may be a warmer, but I am happy with the slight trade off.

| arctics are great and you can wash them reasonably regularly when they start to get ripe. a MTM Santi 400g thinsulate undersuit is the nuts for winter diving and can be combined with arctics or ordinary zerotherms as required. the latter needs quite a lot of lead to sink it Adam - but no big deal. make sure you're wearing some sort of bulky undersuit when they measure you to allow for the extra size. try to get them to cut the drysuit tight through the legs with a fair amount of room around the shoulders and upper body if you can big velcro pockets on the sides of the thighs (x2) HTH

| Another vote for xerotherm arctics... I used mine at Vobster last week with a set of silk thermals under (niiice!) - was happy at 7 degrees for about 20 mins but would not want to hang around much longer... once up in "the warm" above 15m they were fine. |

| xerotherm artics for me as well but I never need anything else even in 9degrees & 75 minutes of deco
