Wet Dry Gloves..

Tried a pair of Hydrotech dry gloves for the 1st time today - in short they leaked... the right hand on the first dive, and the left on the second!!

Anyway - I am a convert - when they didnt leak I had warm dry hands and didnt loose the dexterity too much.

Are their any tips on fitting these? - they are the blue gloves type with conical wrist seals - or do I need to get a cuff ring system?

Thanks

Make sure that when you put them on there are no folds in the latex seals and that the glove seals cover at least an inch of your dry suit wrist seal.
I've used a pair for about 5 years and had leakage problems at first but soon got the hang of putting them on.
Also if you use a small tube from a ballpoint pen under your wrist seal the gloves won't squeeze when you dive and will not look like boxing gloves at the surface.

I didnt mind the squeeze so much and coped OK with the inflated glove at the surface.

Maybe I'll persist for a few more dives. On the first dive I didnt worry about how they sealed just pulled them on - when the RH glove leaked my buddy spent 5 mins making sure we got a smooth seal on the 2nd dive - then the LH glove leaked!!

Ive got a pair of hydrotech ones with same issue.

Getting first glove on is easy - getting the second on to seal properly is impossible - i get one dry one wet hand.

Getting either off after a dive requires help.

I also got painful squeeze below about 25m.

All the above is the reason im going for a ring system on the cuff with new suit which hopefully will arrive soon - the latex seal idea was just too much trouble for me.

Do a search on Rolocks- they are one of the best of the ring systems and excellent at keeping your hands warm and toasty.

GLOC has also posted fitting instructions previously.

The latex seal only gloves can be difficult to fit and require another person help to get a good seal-some divers have cut down the seal slightly as this makes putting them on slightly easier.

Rolocks are easy to fit and preserve the inner seal so you can do wet in the summer if you want.

HTH

Ian
