| I reckon the'd just say 12 months. I've had my suit for about 8 ish years and they have charged me for every repair made. Even if they replace the zip, they never g'tee it. I'd speak to them first to sound them out.

| Under the SGA it has to be fit for purpose. A 12 month warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, not instead of. Manufacturers deliberately place a warranty of 12 months on goods to reduce the number of returns. If you bought a new washing machine, for example, and it broke down after 18 months you'd be covered because you have a reasonable expectation for a machine to last for longer than that. Being that a drysuit is an expensive investment and considering all the other relevant circumstances you are probably still within your rights to ask for a repair free of charge. See section 14 (2) of the Sale of Goods Act here: Sale of Goods Act 1979 as amended up to date to 1/10/2003 The point is really that you'd expect it to last longer than that with normal use, and that they cost a feckin fortune. Of course, it sometimes helps to ask nice first but... |

of course you would have to prove that the damage was not owner caused and reasonable maintanance has been carried out in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. but ask nicely and JJ might do it fer free if its dubious about the cause. go in like a twat and you can guarantee that it will be repaired at a cost.

| They are fair there, you do need to speak to the right guy though. JJ is a very reasonable guy.

I have one of their suits, and I'm really happy with it. I had great service from the guy over the phone when sorting out sizes. However, they seemed surprised when I wasn't happy about getting what was supposed to be a brand new suit with somebody elses name written in it. I paid top price for it. The guy I spoke to on the phone reckoned it was ok because most of their suits are like that...? Anyway, all sorted now. And as I said, the suit seems great. |

| Can you consider a drysuit as a perishable product? I would think something like a seam would be.
