Neckseals

We are a Uni club and about 3 years ago decided that it just wasnt
accpetable to use ill-fitting semis in the middle of winter.

So we started on the drysuit trail. Dispite no funding and a good bit of
bartering plus ebay, we have about 20+ suits, mostly Otter membrane.

We've (well Phil) has become a dab hand at all forms of repair.

But ............
Here's the problem.

Necks.

Yep we have a suit that will fit a tall thin guy and a shorter fat one.
Tight we can live with, but slack isnt nice and kinda defeats the object.

So has anybody any ideas how you can make a seal tighter.
Looked at the Apollo neck thing, but that doesnt work.

Not looking at a new neckseal, just making the ones we have a little tighter
on the odd occaision.

Any ideas?

Layers of neoprene tube... in other words a false neoprene neckseal in different diameters, they can also be layered, within reason.... same for cuff seals.

Tried a small latex neckseal under the existing and same over the seal,
but not a neoprene under.

I'll get an actual neoprene neckseal and see if that works under the latex.

Any more (apart from the noose bit - Uni get upset about that).

It's not that I dont like it, I actually looked into it, but by the time we'd
kitted out the suits we had, we could have bought a fair few new Otters.

Great idea, just too much wonga.

Seriously, I've used false neoprene seals under cuff seal and they works perfectly, added and extra 5-10 mm on the and provided a perfect seal.... can't see any reason it wouldn't work on a neck seal.... try it first tho!

This little jobbie is a neoprene like band you wear under the standard seal.
Apollo Sports: Dive Gear: Bio Seal

That said it disn't solve my problem, I ended up getting them replaced with new (smaller) seals.

I used one of them rubber straps of a dive knife when my neck seal got a bit loose, did the trick.
