Turn suit inside out.

Put coke bottles etc. in arms, with either a hole through one bottle, hose
down one side, or if really snazzy fit a drysuit nipple to the bottom of one
bottle.

Do zip up (hands through neck seal).

Put football in head.

Now stick cylinder on and inflate.

Air is coming out, but its coming out where water comes in.
Soapy water and you can mark the area as much as you like and if you do a
repair, you are repairing the actual spot.

Tried the soapy water trick, but failed. So I filled the offending leg with water and watched for water seepage on the outside. Hey presto, found two pin holes on the calf, two blobs of aquasure and my dives are now dry ones once again.

Coat the suit in diluted washing-up liquid and look for a stream of bubbles.

If you know roughly where leak is this works.

turn suit inside out
zip it up and tie suit to something solid so when heavy and full of water it won't move

use hose pipe through the neck to put water in - ie on the wet side of suit.

with the weight of the water you can see where it is leaking through to the inside of the suit which is currently outside and mark with something like chinagraph pencil when dry repair and then do test again.

If the problem is on an arm put bottle in arm and fill from the otherarm or neck.

hope it helps

cheers Steven

Why turn it inside out and why put a d/s inflator on a bottle when there's a perfectly serviceable one on the suit?

It's certainly not always obvious - I found using a very strong detergent solution, so that it was good & sticky helped. Also, it wasn't immediately obvious - the smallest pinprick lets a helluva lot of water in, without letting much air out - I had to leave the suit inflated for a while and really give it a good soaking in detergent solution before I saw any bubbles - and they were quite subtle - it just grew a bit of froth over the leak, at first I thought they were suds from when I sprayed it.

Not until I wiped them away and saw more bubbles reform did I realise that I'd actually found it.
