Dry Suit Boot Squeeze

Having just picked up my O'Three Ri 2/100 on the recommendation of these very forums, I took it for it's first dunking in the wet stuff. That being the local pool as it was my first time in a dry suit.

I was expecting it to feel tight around the neck, but what I wasnt expecting was squeeze on my boots. Even without fins on.

Is this normal? I tried putting some air in to the suit, but this didn't make any difference to the feet crushing I was getting.

Surely this isn't how all dry suits feel on? And don't call me Shirley.

Steve

sounds like your boots might be a little on the large side..

if so - one thing you could try is putting odour eaters in the bottom of each boot to take up some of the excess space in there.

I presume this was while swimming and not just standing up in the shallows? Standing up in shallows you cant do anything about squeeze. It shouldnt be evident when swimming though.

Did you have any socks on? Try thick socks.

As wilbo said the boots could be a little on the large side BUT if you weren't wearing the full thermal socks you'll wear in the sea that could be the reason.

Ok, thanks, I will try that. They already have an insole in them I think.
I'm normally a size 9, though on the dry suit we went for a 10 with an insole.
They only squeeze when in the water, even just standing. BTW, I had the O'Three PPB socks on.

Maybe a stupid question, but are they the right size? If a boot is narrow it can give you a squeeze when you walk in it, especially dive in it, when you stand in the suit on dry land, are the comfy, could you walk around witout any pain?

My Ri2/100 indicates the size as 9/10 on the bottom of the boots. I'm a size 8 foot and am taking it back on Saturday to have the size 8 boots fitted.

I thought it might be ok, but there really is too much space in them - even with the liners they gave me to try too.

They seem fine walking around normally, only when I get in the water do they start to pinch.

Mine state 10/11 on the bottom. Maybe they are just too big.

I know with O3's boots, they are slightly curved and not flat, I wonder if they are pushing in on your foot when pressure is applied? When you have fins on, is it worse than not wearing them, as in the pinching is harsher? It might be no harm giving O3 a shout, might be an issue with the boot, or maybe you might need to change your feet!
