| Wetsuits, Drysuits & Undersuits: Discuss subxero weighting in the Dive Kit and Equipment forums: has anyone done enough sea dives in a subxero to get a feel for the weighting yet. I'm curious ... |

| Ive done 6 dives in mine (only one salt admittedly) and it would appear i need at least 4kg more than my weezle to sink it. Im now diving with a phenomenal amount of weight.

4 more than a weezle means bugger all to me unfortunately, but thanks anyway |

| I too moved from a Weezle and I am having major issues with my weighting and the Sub-Xero and like String, am carrying a fair old amount of lead to get under which I then find makes me overweighted when I eventually do! With Brian Allen in Vobster the other week and could not get under (Twins with a 4kg V weight). He put on an extra couple of blocks and I sunk pretty quickly but had masses of air in the wing when I trimmed out and was still heavy. I think the main problem is the suits “Windproof” and hold the air more than others do. OK, I know that you leave the pockets open but you have to get the air in the right place to be able to vent it in the first place. I have had two rather “buoyant” moments on ascent as well where I could not dump gas quickly enough as well and I think the arm vent is something to do with this – if you drive your dry suit open and fairly “tight” you effectively trap the windproof panels in the left arm together, making air migration through them harder, well, its my theory anyway. It’s a great suit, but I need to get these issues sorted to feel comfortable and I am not sure that I am totally confident in it yet…. |

| Garf From discussing with a few people that dive these - weighting is same or greater than a 400grm undersuit. 6-8kg for a sea dive would be a rough guide |

| 6-8 more? Cripes .... I thought the 400gmt thinsulates were bad but at least one expects to increase the weight by 4kg when new ! Quote:
