Sticking pockets to my suit!

Hi
I recently brought a detachable pocket for my suit which you strap to your leg and then thread the harness strap through. Trouble is unless I do the leg straps up really tight it swings round my leg and is really annoying, however, when the straps are done up tight I can't swim! So I was thinking of cutting all the straps off and sticking it to my suite. Just wondered if any one could give me any tips on the best glue to use and how best to go about this.

Cheers
Tom

put suit on, hold pocket where needed and chalk around it. Then take suit off and put masking tape along the chalk lines, helps make a neat job of things unless your really good at gluing within the lines then glue the entire area with 2 part adhesive - beaver sell some this is ideal for the job, mix the whole pot together now put glue on the pocket wait ten to fifteen minutes (sometimes you want another coat) put them together and put a cylinder on them over night your pocket will never come off

Bostik 2402 is the stuff. The Beaver 2 pack is rebadged 2402
You dont need to mix the whole pot up, just enough to do the job

Clean both surfaces with a solvent,
Put a THIN coat of glue on each surface,
Allow to dry,
Put on another thin coat
Allow to dry
Put pocket on suit and press down hard, using something like a small roller or piece of wood to apply as much pressure as possible
Job done, there is no need to leave weights on overnight or anything like that

cheers

The only reason I mix the whole pot up is I never get the right ratio of hardener to glue.

The exact ratio of glue to hardener is not that critical. It should be about 5% by weight, but more or less really just affects the working time (which is also affected by temperature, ventilation and humidity)

Don't do it... if its the type of pocket i think it is, it will still slop around on your suit even if you stick it. They are to slim and flimsey. Go and get yourself a proper neoprene pocket and stick that on. Pretend its stuck on and put some bits in, you'll see what I mean....

A neoprene pocket will be far beter...
