7mm Waterproof 3 finger mitts. Dead properly warm, and much easier on the boat because they don't get cold if your underglove gets damp/wet.

Oh, and they're warmer than drygloves. Even drygloves with a fleece liner with an underglove on.

Don't think I'll be going back.

Digs.

signaling in 3 finger mitts

The glib answer is to use hex not base 10 for depths / times.

Reality is that this has never been a problem because I very rarely signal numbers / depths - this way, up, stop, time to go home for tea & toast and if numbers really do need to be communicated - ie change of deco plan then I tend to use wetnotes or a slate.

Having tried numerous and expensive drygloves over the years I'm convinced they are a waste of time. If the water is cold, get some lovely thick neoprene boxing gloves, eat lots of pre-dive high-carb food and hot drinks, jump up and down before you get kitted up and just go diving.

Stay warm

PS water temp today in japan is 22degC so I may just have disqualified myself from this discussion ... but I did spend the winter diving ice-fringed lakes 1600m up Mt Fuji where water temp was 2 -3 degC

£1.29 drygloves were infinately better than the shoddy ND attempt. Poseidon Progloves are the dog's and kept my hands warm even after 90 mins in 7 degrees.

Drygloves are for pussies.

Dived all day yesterday without gloves too

Gloves full stop are for pussies

But if I had to choose a pair it would be the nice'n'toasty Merino lined titanium pinnacle ones I have. Loads of flexibility, merino wool lined and kept me nice and warm in Mull at the beginning of April.

TeddyDiver saw the sea in a book once
Bought ND rings a couple of weeks ago and so far tried them once in a pool. Did't notice any sharp edges and the locking mechanism seems good and robust. However I replaced the gloves with Viking 3finger mittens and I'm going to have a dive tomorrow in 3C Arctic Ocean as the first real test for them..
