Shit kit alert- ND dry glove rings

Bought some of these and used them for a couple of days in the Sound of Mull before taking them off my suit in disgust. The rings are too big and the red locking ring has bits on it so sharp they actually cut my hands so they bled.

Eventually I took them off and sanded the sharp bits off then gave them to someone else who reckoned they were ok as long as you put the dry gloves on straight away.

While in use underwater, hands were very toasty. But you couldn't bend your wrist enough to clip stuff on and off cos of those stupid rings.

Repaired the holes in my Poseidon Progloves and TBH they were a million times better and not that much colder.

So. ND dry glove ring system.

Shit.

Nice write up

I was tempted to get some myself but after seeing them at the dive show the rings looked large enough to get my feet through

You should try my OS Systems Dry glove system that are on sale

But knowing you, you'd want them for 50p or something

Not trying to hijack Woz's thread! Honest.

I've been looking at dry gloves as after an hour in St Abbs the other week (7 degrees) my hands got cold enough that I couldn't properly change functions on my camera! I have a mate that can source Si-Tech dead cheap, but I've been told these should be properly glued to the suit.

So has anyone any experience of the KWTT system that Seaskin do (Seaskin Custom Dry Suits (Aqualand Ltd) KWTT Dry Glove System)?
Rob

PS at least I've now managed to knock ND gloves off the list!!

Looks very similar to the Diving Concepts, OS Systems, Checkup ring systems. These all work well - I have the OS Systems ones and I know several people with the Diving Concepts type ones that all seem to like them.

I'm now using the Viking Drysuit rings which are great, but these do need to be fitted to your suit. But it means I can change a wrist seal in 2 minutes and if I rip a glove putting it on, I can just grab a spare and use that instead.

Wouldnt be without my ND dry gloves. Without them there isnt a hope of me diving through the colder winter months.

Yes the rings are big but found no real issue with it. Can reach all my clips and get in/out of my harness. The sharp bits do cut your hands but thats solved by just wearing the inner liners.

For the money they're excellent. In water <10c they're the difference between 45 minute and 15 minute dives for me and well worth it.

The supplied inner glove i found too thin/cold but that was soon remedied by a 40gsm thinsulate inner instead.

Im with you string, love my ND drygloves to bits.

Toasty warm with either the supplied liner gloves or thinsulate type thicker ones. No probs bending / reaching etc and didn't find them particularly sharp.

My only gripe would be they are 'slightly' bulky

Woz

If you want the best:-

ROLOCKS

ND- rings are very large and the locking mechanism can be unreliable.

My Rolocks have been 100% reliable for the last 18 months. Expensive but the best in my opinion.

Has anyone had a look at the new dry gloves Seaskin are doing on their suits? I was wondering about getting those or Rolocks when the time comes.
