Cheers,
Sorry....

Loads of reef predators, scorpion fish, baracuda, morays, starfish, cuttlefish...etc etc , all in action. Explanations of how they catch their prey, etc. The time-lapse footage of 20 legged sunstars running around hoovering up brittlestars was incredible, as was the slow-mo of cuttlefish grabbing their victims.

Left me gobsmacked

Cheers, Paul

If this was the Giant sunflower star (Pichnopodia helienthoides), common in the eastern Pacific from Alaska to California, it is said to be capable of moving as fast as 3 metres per minute!!!!!

Aye that looks like the fella.

What I want to know is just how they got the time lapse photography done? There was no camera movement between shots, so its unlikely to have been either a ROV nor was the camera handed off to a relay of divers.....long deco?? tripod nailed to the reef (please noooo)?

any way did anyone else see it? ....anyone...

Cheers, Paul

If I'm not mistaken, there were several of those Sunflower stars at Anglesey!! Slightly different colour, pink instead of yellow - are these the same species? It stood out in my mind, on account of all the arms it had!

No, I think you are probably referring to Crossaster papposus http://www.marlin.ac.uk/species/Crossasterpapposus.htm
