I may have missed this so I apologise if others have posted here concerning this but I stumbled onto this link today and I was, well, speechless really.

Honestly I am lost for words.

Angry

*$£%*())$(

How angry does this make me!!????

Senseless, pointless, brutality, committed by brainless, moral-free thugs.

Zero justification and yet the authorities were dragging their heels by all appearances. I can only hope that the last update that gives soem hope of prosecution turns out to be true.

As for a community that keeps quiet and doesn't "rock the boat" over this sort of thiings....I couldn't possibly write my thoughts about that.

Pure scum.

Lou

I was out in dingle a few months back and have just spoken to some friends I made while I was there. Apparently this wasn't an isolated incident with a number of smaller localised seal colonies also attacked around the same time although this hasn't made the press.

It seems as idyllic as this part of rural Ireland is, there are certainly issues.

It's Worse

Shocking stuff indeed - however, this is happening in Canada to a much greater extent.

On February 3rd, 2003, the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) announced a kill quota of 975,000 baby and adult harp seals and 30,000 adult hood seals over a 3-year period, 2003-2005 inclusive.

(the Sea Shepherd ship is currently docked here in Bermuda)
