Angry CITES Protected species?

i was browsing through the gallery on YD and noticed

http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/ga...e-Greece/lunch

The large shell on the transom is a fan mussel - Pinna nobilis, which is a CITES appendix 1 - uber endangered! Did a lot of work on these things in greece. That one looks to be between 40-60 years of age.

And greece is the only strong hold for these things in numbers left in the med. Aint going to be there long as the italians take piss all notice of protected species and the greeks like wise

rant over

Keith
