Sea Monkies

Remember those ads in the back of your comics when you were a kid?

I always thought they were rip offs designed to relieve small children of their pocket money.

That's before my kids were given a kit each recently. I've now got two small tanks of the weirdest, most bizarre, but fascinating creatures, sat in our bathroom!

My kids think they're brilliant, but I've still not worked out exactley what they are!!

Richard

This Sea Monkey Worship site has all the answers.

They're a type of shrimp apparently.

Brine shrimps IIRC, we had some that lasted a few months.

You may also want to look at Triops, they're fun little cool things for a small tank like the Sea Monkeys, but tend to get a little bigger.

My kids got some Sea Monkies for Cristmas... started them going beginning of Jan, and they are still going strong!

About 6 weeks ago, we noticed a new batch of "babies" swimming around.

I keep telling my kids that the Sea Monkies look a little cramped in their small tank, and that they should let them have a swim in my Marine fish tank.....

Andrew

PS> Yes, they are a "bred" variety of Brine Shrimp...

sea monkies

I used to have some, they are fascinating but after a while i got bored of them coz all they did was make more baby sea monkies.
So first I put soap in their water but that didn´t kill them so then I fed them to my goldfish
( the fish died a few days after probably from the soap )
ha ha ha ha
shouldn't laugh probably sorry bubbles and squeak!
awwwwww
