I repeat my answer to a similar question in a previous thread:
Most of those we see here on the west coast of Sweden, which are largely the same species as occur in the UK, have a one-year life-cycle, some only a few months. They mate during late winter, lay their eggs during the spring and summer and then die. The eggs hatch into planktonic larvae (after 5-50 days, depending on species, water temp etc) which eventually develop into baby nudibranchs and settle to the bottom. The best time to see and photograph nudibranchs is February to April. They are also at their largest then, so are easiest to photograph.

Nudibranchs are appearing now around the coast of Plymouth.

Most often seen eating oaten pipe hydroids.

Loads and loads of them on the Salsette on Sunday. If you are diving it and want to see them, then go to the hull, at the bow end, and look in the top 3-4 m. Around the porthole openings seemed particularily popular.

I saw lots of nudibranch eggs in Swanage this weekend but no nudibranchs!

I was diving out of Plymouth last weekend, on the Persier wreck I saw hundreds of young nudibranchs, and I mean hundreds.

Also on the Scylla I saw 4 distinct different varieties, altogether probably around 20 specimens.

and on the Maine, pal of mine got some video of a Nudi riding on the back of a Spider crab!

Never saw any on the Scylla, I must say though, I was really impressed how collonised the Scylla is becoming since my last dive on her a year ago. The plumose and soft corals are quite impressive.
