| Well as divers there of course is the inspired plan of swimming under the boats and taking the corks out... But seriously this practice is deplorable and should be stopped. If they are fishing on British quotas I think they are subject to British Law though I would have to check. (Have a law student friend who specialises in Maritime Law and she's kindly agreed to help). The big bug is catching them and proof. Besides writing to your MP and MEP there's little else apart from vigilence if your dive boat happens to see it. I've got no problems with fishing for sharks in a sustainable manner but if the shark is going to be killed surely it's ownly ethical to use a goodly proportion of it. Shark steak really isn't tht bad. Mike

| I think those fishermen who do this sort of practice should be named and shamed, they should not be part of this society as far as I am concerned. Controversial opinion I know, but there is nothing to gain from this practice apart from lining your own pockets... disgraceful.... ![]() |

| Shark finning is illegal - anywhere in the world - and if anyone hears of practices such as this in UK waters then the Shark Trust should be notified - they will follow up the report with the authorities. shark trust, shark conservation, great white shark, adopt a shark let's name and shame anyone involved in these barbaric and cruel practices Rob |
