Talking Now That's What I Call A Team Building Exercise

Have just been told that work are going to send me on a team building exercise type of thing. Great, thinks me, a long weekend in a tent in some muddy field is just what I need. Not.....

But no, this time work have come up trumps. In fact I'm off to Baja California Sur, Mexico to help a research team studying Grey Whale migration.

"Mexican teams work from open skiffs called pangas on the blue tropical waters of a rich lagoon habitat surrounded by desert. You will spend most days on the water spotting whales from boats, photo-identifying individual whales, recording data, and assisting with navigation. You will spend some time ashore, digitizing and analyzing photographs of whales, matching your photographs to those in the local catalogues, and compiling a relational database of sightings for further analysis. In the evenings, informal lectures or sharing of stories and music round out your stay."

Trying not to grin too much........

Mark

Apparently our team building exercise is to be part of the christmas night out. It just so happens to be 40 miles away from where I live, it will cost £49.50 for the meal ticket and entertainment and then drinks on top of this. then fcuk knows the cost of a taxi there and home.
I have explained to the manager what he can do with his idea of team building exercise.

Oh I so wish I was Whale watching.

January in Baja - you poor sod. The weather will be dire. very stormy; mainly from the north with freezing drizzle - no wonder no one else wanted it
