F*****t dickbrains.

Hardly suprising though, it doesn't take much for some folk to take ut their "revenge" on animals. Look at the seal slaughters in Ireland earlier in the year.

Unhappy Has the slaughter has begun???

Just got this off the BTYahoo news page

At least 10 stingrays have been found dead and mutilated on Australia's eastern coast since Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin was killed by one of the animals last week. The killings have prompted fears of "revenge attacks" against the normally docile fish. The popular television star was killed last week when a stingray barb pierced his chest as he filmed a TV show off Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

The death of the naturalist, who was snorkelling with the ray, prompted an outpouring of grief in Australia and among his fans worldwide.

The dead stingrays have been discovered on two beaches in Queensland, including two that were found with their tails lopped off.

A spokesman for Irwin's conservation group Wildlife Warriors said he was concerned the rays were being hunted and killed in retaliation for the TV star's death.

"It may be some sort of retribution, or it may be fear from certain individuals, or it just may be yet another callous act toward wildlife," he said.

He said people should treat stingrays with caution, but added: "There is still no need to kill or mutilate these important animals."

Bizarre.

I'd hoped Darwin would've got rid of this kind of idiot a long time ago

Angry What morons

OK, so no-one appears to have said this yet (apologies if they have).

How did Steve Irwin get stabbed in the chest by a bottom dwelling creature?

Having seen my fair share of these animals, I have never seen one act in an agressive manner, and I have taken photos of them while being less than a few inches away. surely he was actually holding the poor animal up when it defended itself? (explaining how the injury took place?)

Now we read that some idiots have even tried to retalitate on his behalf! I despair at the human race sometimes.

It's really sad isn't it the lack of knowledge people have about our environment. I was out in the red sea last week and can't remember the number of texts I recieved from friends warning me to be careful after Irwin's death. When trying to explain to them that unless hugely provoked these beautiful creatures are not the massive threat everyone now believes they couldn't understand

Apologies if some people find the following comment inappropriate, but, I'd really like to see the footage or read exactly what he was doing with the ray prior to his death.

Agree

I agree, although I don't think it should be published from the point of view that it would attract the wrong type of viewer, I think it would be good to get an independant view of it and a public report on what he was doing.
