There's a shallow reef out of Newquay called by the locals as 'Milky Rough' that has a population of Trigger Fish. The reef is only about 11m deep. Very hard to get a picture of as they hide in the cracks in the rocks.

Nice to see a pic of one Jane.

Saw one at St. Bride's, Pembrokeshire last summer. Doing a bit of googling apparently you get gatherings of them under mumbles pier each summer.

The Royal Adelaide off Chesil has been pretty consistent. Saw a bunch there this summer... unfortunately it involves a killer walk from the main car park.

Yep thats where they get a few congregating every year for a few months. Thats why Smudge was surprised I saw one where I did. But a few fishermen have caught smaller immature ones about 10-12cm round Weymouth so they are beginning to wonder whether they are breeding in the area now. Global warming?????????? maybe we'll gradually see more.

Can't say I've seen much of anything under Mumbles Pier ...however, we have seen a shoal of trigger fish on the Oxwich Wreck in Gower, and also one or two on the Strombus (wreck in the middle of Swansea Bay). It's not just recently either, it was at least 3 years ago I first saw trigger fish in Gower.
