me neither... but then i don't eat very much sea food at all. i wasn't sure if people were objecting to the 'live' bit or the turtle bit or the 'cute'n'cuddly' turtles are the best thing ever bit. Any personal objections to it are fine, but some of them just sound a bit like double standards to me.

Oddly enough, a couple of employees at our local fishmarket recently raised this point and wondered if selling lobsters live with rubberbands round their claws does not contravene Swedish law concerning cruelty to animals, and it has even been discussed in our local (Gothenburg) daily newspaper, for the first time, as far as I know. Other stall-holders countered that customers prefer to buy their lobsters live, as evidenced by the fact that they can't get as high a price for the ones they sell cooked, and that if they don't put rubber bands on their claws, they fight and injure each other.
