Shame it's 200m deep, the only thing that would survive that dive would be my watch

This would be something that could tempt me to buy a drysuit if it were diveable

Those corals were beautiful but it was my understanding that things like that do not grow or survive at those depths due to lack of light etc. Was the 200 metres depth quoted a mistake?
I am open to correction about this by anyone.

But equally lovely things can be seen at 10-20m in the UK! Get yourself a drysuit and have a go. St Abbs, for example, has anemones the size of tea plates in a myriad of beautiful colours. The Farnes last weekend was full of colourful sponges, deadmens fingers and plumrose anemones. We have seals, porpoises and dolphins. I've seen octopus cunningly change colour to disguise themselves, beautiful wrasse that follow you round on your dive, elegant pipe fish, tiny dainty seas slugs and nudibranchs...and that's just up here in the frozen North East!

Go on, get a drysuit, you know it makes sense

I don't know why, but often, orange-coloured corals tend to be the ones that do not host symbiotic, light-sensitive algaes.

Corals that grow inside caves (ie. no natural sunlight) tend to be orange...

It's going to happen sooner rather than later, I'm coming under pressure from friends to get wet here. Next purchase will be bottles and lead, I'll probably do a couple at the end of August when my semi-dry will be warm enough

these are deep water coral, and live mainly on nutrient rich super cold waters. Uber slow growing - very hard to find. There are a few known sites around scotland, and ireland.

I can dig up a shed load of info from work if anyone wants it
