There might be only one fisherman dredging but there are quite a few who make a living in the area diving for scallops. I don't think anyone would object to dredging being banned but scallop diving has a much lower impact on the environment.

Liberal MSP's are a waste of time. They are only there by accident so are making the most of it. Labour seems hell bent on erasing every bit of traditional Scottish life they can. The sooner that twat McConnel gets kicked out in the elections the better.

Cheers,

Stuart

To be replaced with who????? the SNP they want to cut ties with the union and turn Scotland into a totally independent state which will just make things worse. I've never voted Labour but these coming elections im seriously considering it, the tories will never get in, the SNP are utter loons, green party not my thing, so who does that leave, Labour or abstain, if abstain you cant sit and say how did those clowns get in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry slightly off subject.

it's a fact, any type of dredging is seriously damaging for all bottom habitats. we've a serious problem here in lyme bay, devon. turns out that all the scallop dredging going on has wrecked valuable habitats for the Eunicelle vericosa (pink sea fan) supposedly its a pretected species, but Mr. B Bradshore, in his great wisdom , hasn't proposed to do anything about protecting it here (except some poxy small volunteer exclusion zones, that aren't being abided to) . dredgers from all over the country come and raid the stocks. basically anything on the bottom doesn't have a chance when it's got dredging gear coming at it.

i've got loads to say on this subject, but am suffering from a easter hangover and can't get my thoughts in order !!
