Could be interesting? For a change? I don't know about you, but I found the first series great and the second series seemed lacking in content because some of items where linked to the coast by very narrow margins. Sadly this series looks like going down the same path, what with the first ten minutes of the last episode being taken up with the house prices in Sandbanks Also Nicholas Crane was a far better presenter compared to Neil Oliver who is beginning to get on my nerves like that piggy eyed Mark Horton. |

| To be honest, the programme is presented for a prime time BBC 2 audience (IIRC, it might even be 'bankrolled' by part of the OU budget, so any cross over from educational to entertainment will have BBC Execs slapping themselves on their backs) and to be honest, it does exactly what is says on the tin ... Being interesting and informative, as well as entertaining. 'Tis true there is the diving element to it, the octopus bit in the first one for example, but you can't seriously expect to have that sort of thing in every single episode ? From a diving point of view, it suffers the same fate as something like 'Wreck Detectives', as on the face of it appealing to a diving audience, but having to be kept at such a level as to make it interesting / appealing to a general non-diving audience. Personally, I like the programme and it is varied and generally interesting. It is one of those genres that used to be the staple of the BBC and something they used to do very well, however in the chase for ratings, they seemed to think that to be popular they had to produce anything ITV churned out. I'd much rather see 'Coast' in its current format, rather than have to put up with another mindless soap opera or some programme that requires a phone call to decide which clapped out ex-celeb wins.
