Fine i wasn't trying to be awkward or argumentative it just looked like a contradiction on your original point. I respect your opinion but i don't agree with it

Just to put everyones fears at rest, I wasn't going to start pillaging the seas for loads of lobster. But I do like seafood and the occasional one would be nice.

Yes but don't ask me to quote it here. When I go hunting I promise to take a note of the size and a ruler.

I'll have to refer you to some of the previous answers that have covered this point already. The freezer technique sounds good though.

Just shove your hand in after it, and they get ever so scared and basically give up, and you just pull them out.

On second thoughts that probably isn't my best bit of advice that I have given today.

Apparently the fairy liquid trick works though

I'm looking forward to pillaging the sea for a tasty meal this weekend!
To be honest I see it as catching something to eat. Is that not how you survive? Or have we all forgotten/lost sight of how food appears on our plates???
Surely catching your own is better than buying a lobster or any other seafood that has been caught by commercial fishing methods, shipped/flown/driven half way accross the world/country and then had a profit slapped on top of it by Tesco?
By the way who knows what hardship the poor animal suffers in the process, do you think the fisherman/supermarkets actually care? It's just a profit margin for them.
I think this whole country has lost it's grip on reality!

Is there a YD approved, satisfaction guaranteed way for catching lobsters?
If you get the bladder ouf of a box of wine and fill it full of fresh water. Stick a pipe on the end of the tap and when you get to the lobster hole you shove the pipe under it's belly and sqeeze the bladder and press the tap. It empties fresh water into the hole and screws up the salinity of the water and the lobster just comes out. Then you grab it behind it's claws and stick it in your goodie bag. I've tried this and it works every time a treat.
