| I wonder how far offshore they were when they caught it? I've done a fair bit of diving down that end of Cornwall but never seen one in the wild, and i don't think i'd fancy my chances if i was in the water with one...........

IIRC at one point in time the largest ever Thresher recorded in the UK was caught at Great Yarmouth (I'm going back to the 70s) it was caught in a trammel net and was 50m off the shore at South Beach. Water depth there would have been a couple of meters at most.... Chris

| [rant on]I agree it should have gone back. I must admit I don't like fishing methods and the fact fish stocks are low is down to the way they are fished. But money makes the world go round. They'll fish until there's none left then blame the government for not imposing stricter controls, then go on the dole and we'll pay them.[rant off] Just to upset everyone further, I was told that in Thailand, decent sized fish sell for 200 baht (£3) each including Manta Rays.
