Question Northern Ireland creatures of the deep (not very)
Today I was doing a dive on teh Inner lees wreck (shakedown dive people with new kit etc).

After two people pulled out (one not sinking and one sinus trouble) i went down with my buddy and went to see what we could...

I saw a rock with two fairly deep holes going under it.
I shone my torch in and saw somethign white with suckers on it and it moved away from the light...

Was it an octopus i saw??? here? in 9degree water?

I did see a nudibranch on the dive too.

We tried to take photos but there was to much particulate in teh water...

It could of being an octopus, we do get quite a few about here.

Octopus go white when they are scared, so yeah, probably an octopussy

I saw an octopus today on the Alastor and the water was couple of degress colder than that.

Thanks guys - people laughed at me (cos we had been in tenerife and seen loads of tehm and they thought i was joking... or had one from a jar... :P)

You shoulda heard my buddy when i poined out the nudibrach!!! exited underwater screaming... wierd...

where were you diving? I quite often see nudibrachs around rathlin (black head)

A lesser Octopus probably - only has one row of suckers.
Common on west coast of Scotland.

Believe it or not it was on the inner lees wreck in strangford lough.
The wreck lies in about 10m-12m (15 on high).

I like it - to was my first dive here... just grown attached to it.

Ive only don two dives in rathlin.
One was the bay near the loughgarry (where i found some mermaids purses )
and the other was the drake.
