BSAC and the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) are campaigning for the creation of a network of vital Marine Reserves - where our precious marine heritage and wildlife will be safe from harm, giving nature room to breathe and recover from decades of exploitation.
Together we have now collected 100,000 signatures in support of our 'Marine Reserves Now' campaign, which will be handed over during a march to the Houses of Parliament next week.
We're now looking for 75 divers to take part in the march next Thursday, 3rd April - from the London Eye down to the Houses of Parliament where the petition will be handed over at a press call at 12.45pm and invite you to join us.
If you would like to join the march, please email sandrac@bsac.com to register your details as soon as possible. We will then confirm all the arrangements with you next week.
Many thanks for your support.
Full details as follows:

Date of the March:
Thursday, 3rd April 2008

Assembly Time: 11:00am

Assembly Point: Jubilee Gardens, beside the London Eye, South Bank.

What To Bring: mask & snorkel, hood.
(optional kit: diving suit (dry or wet), booties, fins (no dive knives, no tanks, no weights). NB. There will be no changing or storage facilities

A Marine Reserves Now! T-shirt will be provided to participants.

What we'll do: Starting at 12:15, we'll march over Westminster Bridge dressed in our diving gear carrying banners and placards demonstrating our support for Marine Reserves Now! Arrive at Old Palace Yard by St Stephen's Gate, Palace of Westminster, at 12.45.

Photo call with divers congregated outside the Houses of Parliament and presentation of Marine Reserves Now! petition to Environment Secretary at 13:00.
