When you know where to look theres millions of the things. Loads on the rocks by the cabin cruiser. And inside it. But even more on the west wall above the diving bell if you head south. The wall is almost solid with them. They are definately spreading quickly. I reckon it will be the same in vobster soon.

Or is it just a sign the water is warming. I didnt notice them last year though but then again i wasnt in the place every sodding weekend due to weather

I've never been but clearly they are sponges put in place to keep the water level down in the event of another wet summer.

Hopefully i wont be anywhere near the place as i'll be in the sea enjoying good wrecks and great vis.

Forget the web. The Observers Book of Pond Life is your friend. Freshwater sponges are very common, you'll find them in ponds, canals, fast rivers, slow rivers, the lot, as long as it's clean.
