For those of you who regularly dive Portland this will come as no surprise but "our" shark is back for the third year running.
He seems to patrol the area between the West Shambles buoy and Pulpit Rock at the tip of the Bill. Like all sharks he is only interested in his stomach and menaces divers with plaice or other flatties on their strings.
Had a couple of friends who claim to have been scared s**tless by him coming out of nowhere and smashing into them on their ascents, when their catch was flapping away.
Clearly the fish blood and distress signals attract him. Must be pretty scarey as these two guys are men of steel underwater and both dropped their belts and emerged gibbering for the Rhib to get them very very quickly indeed !
Saw a thresher off the Bill myself 2 years ago but this chappie appears to be a Porbeagle about 2m + long, with a real bad attitude.
Thought it might just be Scuttler with a hangover for a while but no - it's a proper Sharkey Warky !
Anyone else seen him/her when down here ?![]()
