| Hi Guys Don't know what happened there?? Just thought I'd let you know that two of my buddies were diving off Holy Island (Northumberland) last Sunday and a friendly dolphin about 2m long appeared close by. It played around the boat for quite a while, coming within a half a metre of the two guys and wanting to play. Unfortunately they did not get into the water, but took a bit of underwater video footage of it with the gear they use for searching the seabed for wrecks etc. It also played on the bow wave of the boat for over a mile coming back to Beadnell, before breaking off and heading back to where they first saw it. They're just hoping of a repeat next weekend, providing it is not wrapped up in some nets before then. Seals are common place, as are very shy porpoises, but dolphins are quite rare around that part of the coast. Occasionally whales and Orcas are also seen well off shore. Cheers Ron

| Wow thats not far from me. I have never seen a dolphin on the east coast since Freddie at Amble died, got lost, did a bunk etc etc. If they want an extra body (fully housetrained - Cox, VHF etc etc) at any point i dont live too far from there at all.

| Dolphin off Holy Island Hi Porg I'll mention it, but I'm not sure how they stand for room etc., or what the plans will be. Poor old Freddie was killed in salmon nets at Sunderland and dumped overboard. The fishermen involved were heard talking about him over the Marine frequency and how they should get rid of the evidence. Still I'll keep you posted on the issue. Cheers Ron
