While you're at it you can add to the menu banning MP's Gravy Train and all related products.

A local resturant took shark fin soup off the menu because of outraged customers!!
When i asked why it was on there in the first place i was told that it only ever contained fresh tuna bits!!.....and that this is the case in most places!!
My reply!! (not to be corrected like a naughty schoolboy)

BETTER HAVE BEEN DOLPHIN FRIENDLY TUNA!!!!! or i am out of here!!

I signed that one and found 3 other petitions that were relevant to people concerned for marine life, listed below.
Petition to: Implement a Marine Litter Strategy and assign a suitable and credible body to tackle this worsening problem. | Number10.gov.uk
Petition to: Ban mass balloon releases. | Number10.gov.uk
Petition to: to urge the faroe islands & denmark to ban the killing of pilot whales. | Number10.gov.uk
I have to say many of the petitions on the number 10 website seem to be written by signed up members of the lunatic fringe. But it does make interesting reading.

done and shared on facebook, although i remain as cynical as ever about petitions.

on the plus side, i went to a chinese wedding last weekend and this was the first that didn't have shark fin soup on the menu (i've been to a few), despite there being an 18 course seafood banquet.

on a slightly more serious note; yes petitioning does work.

Several months ago either on this site or other UK dive site a member raised concern re a Thai supermarket that was part of global chain selling shark fins. Following letters/emails the marketing manager for the group responded that the produce would be withdrawn.

Petitioning can work, don't be complacent.

    Signed!

Hopefully you guys will all sign our petition in turn. It's also against Shark Finning. We're going for 10,000 signatures by World Ocean Day on June the 8th and although we're doing really well (around 8.5k) we need all the help we can get.
