| was diving off Florida Keys earlier this year and not impressed at all. I used 3 different outfits out of Key Largo and couldn't recommend any of them. Diving was not a patch on the Red Sea with little fish life and coral well broken up (and this was in a national park). Also diving was definitely geared to 'limited experience warm water holiday divers' . HTH Martin

We also tagged on a safari in Kenya and then a few days at the coast. I didn't dive then; I really do wish I could do it again with a liveaboard tagged on the end. As for an off-beat suggestion howsabout something really different eg Antartica? |

| The Galapagos If I'm ever mental enough to try it again (marriage that is) that's where I'd go |

| MY Vote Would be Oz for land based stuff and PNG for diving We did Walindi plantation resort on New Britan the diving was the best and a lot of the coral was near enougth to the surface for a snorkler to apreciate, diving a lot better than Oz or the Coral sea. |

| Thanks for all the suggestions folks, keep 'em coming. Oz is in the 'box seat' at the moment, but that doesn't mean that things won't change before the wedding. Another, land based, idea is to visit Ayres Rock / Ulluru and then get the Ghan train from Alice Springs up to see my mate in Darwin.

| You want an awesome place for a honeymoon, look at the Ladera Resort website. It's in Soufriere in St. Lucia. I didn't honeymoon there, but there was so much to do topside that I never made it underwater. http://ladera.com/ |

The only problem is that we'd be heading in to the Hurricane season for that part of the world, just at the time we're getting married. Might have to bear it in mind for the time I make my 'first' million !

| Don't worry about the hurricanes - the storm that went near St. Lucia was a rarity - until that one, it had been years since a hurricane went that low. On the other hand, I got marginally hit with THREE hurricanes in September. From 30 to 180 miles north of me is like a third world country now with no water or power and lots of hot humid days. While I was on St. Lucia, I drove down to Anse Chastenet and had a look around. They are doubling the size of the resort, and it was already pretty good-sized. It's on the water, but damn there are some steep stairs to climb to get to the rooms up top. Being that low, it could get a little hot and buggy. Ladera at 1000' up has no skeeters. It's typical resort diving - controlling dive masters and dive limits - so we passed on it. The attachment, if it loads, is from the private pool (each room has its own). |
