Trinidad is actually outside of the hurricane belt, so should be ok.

Yes, for the most part. They get one every few years. Not sure what Ivan did. It skirted Barbados, which is ususally considered outside the belt. A tropical storm would be the worst to expect. They are scary enough.

Dengue fever is one of the growing problems in the general area. Carried by flies/mosquitoes? Best really to look at what the Foreign Office says.
