Thumbs up FYI - Extra Baggage Allowance on Air Malta to Tenerife

Guys,

I've just booked two seats for Mrs T and I to visit and dive with Mike (Scuba1) and Rebecca (Moray) in March.

Managed to find direct return flights at www.flightline.co.uk on an Air Malta charter Manchester to Tenerife (TFS) for £144 pp return - and good Dep/Arr times too!

So, then we get into convos about excess baggage for our dive kit...

I contacted Air Malta and they said that if the booking agent/tour operator (Flightline) informed them in advance (email/fax etc.), then, on top of the usual per-passenger 20KGs free allowance, and upon production of our diver cert cards at check-in, then they'd give each of us an extra 15KGs baggage allowance free of charge!

Result Happy days!

Rebecca darling, have the kettle on! Coming in dry!

Make sure you get this in writing as, even armed with an email confirming this, I struggled with the check in girl at Birmingham airport! But then she was from Brum...................... (ducks!)

Sounds like the beginings of a YD convention! Myself and SWMBO will also be visiting Mike and Rebecca in mid March.

Two return tickets with BA, Gatwick to Tenerife for 50,000 airmiles +£58. I knew all those hours stuck at 35,000ft inside an aluminium tube would be useful one day. Not checked up on the baggage allowance yet.

A few years ago, I got 4 tickets to Los Angeles, all on BA Miles. The guy at the check in desk said 'I bet you can't wait to get on another aeroplane'. However, travelling for fun with the family is much different from business travel.

Conor, have you ever known Michael to show moderation in ANYTHING?

Methinks not even Bren has a chance
