Diving Algarve

To be honest diving in the Algarve is not that fantastic, but if you just want to squeeze in a couple of dives its Ok.
Water temp will be between 14 and 18 depends on the wind. However the water only gets warmer when the south wind starts then most dive sites end up with bad vis, or get altogether blown out. There are a couple of decent wrecks if the conditions are OK. Not so much fish life as its all been eaten, but some smaler stuff nudi branch's etc.
If you are preparde to travel a little you could try to dive with dive time in Lagos www.dive-time.net, only half an hour by car from Pria Da Rocha, don't really have much experience with any centres based out of Pria Da Rocha so can't give much comment.

Algarve has good diving, well it is relative to what you are use to. The rule of thumb is that the further west you go the better the waters, i.e better viz & fishlife however the waters are cooler as it's more 'Atlantic'. In the summer that is some 16șc. In Lagos I can reccomend Blue Ocean Divers. http://www.blue-ocean-divers.de/

The western side has warmer water but the dive center I'm thinking of is quite far from where you are staying: I don't have the link with me but will post it later.
