| Diving & accomodation Can i suggest that you check out Maltaqua, which I found to be a very competent and friendly organisation and can provide for you pretty well I think. You can contact them at agnes@maltaquac.com and their website is easy enough to find. |

| We went to Gozo in June last year. We stayed at the Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn and dived with Calypso Diving, who can also arrange accomodation and car hire for you. Dunno about the accomodation, but the car hire was very competitive. Dive centre was well organised, friendly and professional, good bunch of people. It's mostly shore diving and they return to the dive centre for lunch so plenty of time to catch up with the family, or dive in the morning and go explore the island in the afternoon. Gozo is pretty quiet, there's not a lot to do during the day - I dived, my wife sunbathed (my wife had a cold when we were there so she couldn't dive). There's quite a few restaurants round the bay, we ate at a different place every night. Sunday was quite busy, seems to be the night for the locals to "cruise" in their cars, the rest of the week was very peaceful.

| Hi Jeff, We were in Gozo last summer. I had a good experience diving with Gozo Aquasports (on recommendation from this board - thanks guys!). The diving was nice and easy, lovely clear water, scenic and swim-throughs rather than full of life. They can also organise accomodation and transfers for you. I rented an amazing villa with a pool and great views from a guy called Joseph at http://www.farmhousegozo.com/. He also does car rental at good rates. His email is gozovillas@mail.com. Gozo is very quiet as already mentioned. Seemed to be a lot of Fiestas in the various villages in the evenings. We really enjoyed it though, it has a nice atmosphere, like stepping back in time a few years. Malta is much more like a typical resort, high-rise developments etc. By the way Air Malta give an extra 15kg per diver gear allowance. Have a good one! Gav |

| Another vote for Gozo Aqua Sport, Gail and Patrick can sort out everything, car hire and accomodation (Apartment, farmhouse style or hotel). We have been three times, we had a couple of kit problems, one reg playing up and some stitching the zip of one of the girls wetsuits split. Patrick sorted out the regs and restitched the wetsuit. The charge? A donation to a local charity. Brilliant service. Daz

| A vote for Dive Deep Blue here. Also there are some nice apartments 2 mins walk from the dive centre which were very quiet when we used them. Jonathan at DDB can give you details if you ask. Cheaper than the hotels too.

| Malta is a good choice with much more happening for non divers as well as a more varied the night live. Gozo is greast but is likely to be quite this time of year. As a Maltese I would suggest you try and stay away from places like either Qawra, Bugibba or St.Paul's bay as ther is not much of Malta left there. I suggest you try and find a place in Sliema which is central. The heart of it is very old town in feeling feeling, very Maltese and plenty to do ie shopping, cinemas, lovely promanade, plenty of good restaurants for all pockets and bars and pubs. And best of all some 6 dive centers to chose from. A good web site is www.sliema.com If you decide to stay other then Sliema, Malta is a small island and most dive centers offer a free pick up service for the maximum 15mins drive. Plaese try our web site www.maltadiving.net. |

| Family friendly Gozo Hi Gozo is a great place for visiting with a little one, I live there most of the year and have a one year old baby girl. Accommodation is really cheap in May and there is lots of choice mainly eating outside, we have the baby asleep in the pram as it’s fairly quiet – no blasting music and neon signs like on the resorts in Malta. I own Scuba Kings Dive Centre on the Seafront in Marsalforn so I am not exactly impartial as to who to dive with. Check us out at www.divemalta-gozo.com if you are interested I could also get you a good deal on accommodation etc.. Cheers Richie |
