| Like Decowarrior says this is the rainy season in the west, you could be lucky and get two dry weeks though. If it does rain it usually doesnt last more than an hour or so, I have seen it last for four days though! Prices are certainly lower at this time and you should get a good deal. Ian

| As mentioned earlier, September is normally the wettest month in the West. It can rain, normally only 1-2 hours per day, however, if you're unlucky it can happen that you won't see the sun for a couple of days in a row. And if you're lucky, like last September, it hardly rains. There still are liveaboard boats going to the Similan islands, but the options are limited. On the Gulf Islands there is normally less rain in September, but the diving is best on the West Coast. Have fun. |

| Dived the Similans recently on the liveaboard Colona VI - excellent boat with a great very entertaining crew. Boat takes a max of 14 (I believe) but had 11 when I dived. There is only one or two or have less and this is what you want. Personally if you can get a boat going South to Hin Daeng Hin Muang this is a shorter trip (2 nights) and from what I have heard recently - better diving although only two superb sea mounts compared to numerous islands in the Similans, Surins, Koh Bon and Richileau Rock if you go North. |
