Just looking through my log book.... Moray, turtle, Tuna - but that was on a good dive anyway with a dozen or so Hammerheads. Other dives - sod all. I have a log entry here "4/7/05 - Little Brother. Boring." Later the same day "Notable only for the surface swim through jelly fish at the end of the dive." My over riding memories of the Brothers are that they are relatively barren places - they are not rich coral reefs covered with colourful marine life, but big lumps of rock in the middle of nowhere which have some big stuff passing through on a regular basis. If you're lucky you'll see the big stuff and have an amazing dive. If you're unlucky you see nothing. I have experienced both - some of the best and the worst dives I have ever done. Maybe I was spoiled by having the good dives first and having my expectation levels set unrealistically high. |

| no-one has mentioned the threshers yet!!! Hammerheads are fantastic, but I've never seen a thresher close up yet only from a distance in the deep south....You are meant to be able to dive with them at the Brothers at the right times of year..... Cheers Neil

Heyho, I must admit I wouldn't do a Brothers trip on their own, but have always enjoyed the variety of combining them with Elphinstone and Deadalus. |

We had a close encounter with a thresher on the brothers - it was pretty cool.

Take a delayed smb and USE IT, the Egyptians just love flying across the water in their zodiacs at full pelt with scant regard for diver safety (odd really cos they're coming to pick YOU up)!! Given that Elphinstone and Brothers can be challenging dives (currents and swell) it is not always easy to see divers bubbles from the surface but that doesn't seem to bother the Egyptians.... Regards W.C.D.
