Grand Sea Serpent 31st March

Are any YDers booked on the Grand Sea Serpent on 31st March?
There are still spaces if anyone fancies it - £850 with Free Nitrox doing the Brothers, Elphinstone and Daedelus. Not a bad deal. Saw tons of hammerheads on Daedelus last time around this time of year.

I've read the trip reports for this boat last year (thanks for those) and it looks pretty good. Does anyone have any more recent experience? Any idea who the guides are at the moment and how strict they are about enforcing rules? Someone mentioned a 35m depth limit - do they really check your computer?

Cheers for any info.

I think Ali Baba is now on another boat. Check with the tour company to see if they know who the guides are.
Have a great time.
Paul
p.s. Take your own analyser. The boat only has one and with the possibiltyof 24 guest all on Nitrox it could be a while before you get to use it!

I checked with Tony Backhurst and it will be two out of Ahmed, Ahmed & Hani
http://www.seaserpentfleet.com/guides.htm

I wanted to try and avoid the guides I had on the Blue Pearl last time as I wasn't very impressed.

Don't know what has happened to Ali Baba - he isn't on the Royal Emperor either. Perhaps he's retired to spend time with the family. With 10 000 odd dives, he is a scientist's long term diving effects subject dream.

I don't have an analyser - anyone got a spare I can borrow?
Hopefully, the boat won't be completely full anyway.

Hope the crossings aren't too bad. I would have preferred Hurricane for the steel hull, but for £300 less and free nitrox I'm willing to put up with a bit of rock and roll.

Cheers, and thanks again for the trip reports - very handy.

John

Alibaba is now involved with a new boat called Royal Evolution, yes it did exist

Lovely looking boat, maybe my next Redsea trip will be on her.

Yasser saw the sea in a book once
Just for the info,
Aly Baba didn't retired, he's working as permanent Dive Operation manager on the new steel vessel M/S Royal Evolution operating in the Red Sea.
