| Billy why the heck have you booked a destination without knowing if you can dive ? not much point in going ![]() |

| I had a brief look, it does seem that you chose one of the few resorts in Brasil where you can't go diving! There is golf instead. I found this site: http://www.costadosauipe.com.br/index.php?idioma=2 You can try asking them. There is some good diving in that area but knowing Brasil and how these resorts are I doubt very much you'll be leaving the resort. If you have the ooportunity it's well worth going to see Salvador de Bahia. It's rough as guts but fascinating place.

| I did have a quick look Fee before I booked. We fly into Salvador airport , the transfer to hotel is less than one hour away and Salvador Bay is supposed to be great for wrecks. I was a bit worried that the hotel booked does not offer diving and very little mention in the resort's site - one hotel in the resort has a dive centre with no info their web site on the diving itself. i have emailed them for same. If I have to go out of town or further into "rough" areas, maybe there's no value lugging all my kit for very few dives ? But thought I would ask the YD knowledge base before I made my mind up. Many thanks for the info Chris......

| I'll try to get more info, maybe from a Brazillian forum. My only doubt is if the local dive center would go and pick you up from the resort. I wouldn't hire a car as the driving is very hectic. Give me a couple of days and I'll get back to you. Brasil is a wonderful country. There is a big contrast of wealth especially in that area but overall very warm people. If out on the streets just be street wise and don't advertise yourself as a 'rich amrican tourist'. I travelled from Rio to Natal (North-east Brasil and back) and had no problems, speaking the lingo dod help. You'll find them to be very warm people. They are civilised in some ways, beer is served very chilled in litre sized bottles in sterophane buckets.
