I don't know what the diving is like in Marmaris, but Marmaris itself is a bloody shithole and you wouldn't drag me back there for any money

You could check out EDC. I've not been to Marmaris, but have dived with them in Fethiye and if all their centres are as good, then you'll do ok with them.

Try this one:- Marmaris Dive Report

There was a thread on here a little while ago about it as well, just need to search through the archive.

Paul's link above pretty much sums up what the diving is like in that area.

I myself would aviod Marmaris. Some else has voiced their opinion on the place, I have to agree and echo those opinions.

I have been to Marmaris, Fethiye and Antalya... Fethyie is by far the most civilised of the three areas to spend some time at - and, if truth be told, probably the best area for diving of the 3.

Turkey is a great place to take the family on holiday, the people (genrally) are fantastic, you don't get alot of hastle in the bazaars, the food is great, the weather is good, the sea warm and reasonable diving... and while it remains outside of the EU provides value for money.

If you stay in a hotel or apartment, you get what you pay for, but mostly people seem pleased with the standard of accomodation they stay in. Always insist on air con if staying from May to October.

There are also a few operators providing liveaboards...

I'm going back again this year...

If you need to know anything else, just ask... I may know the answer, I may not!

EDC have a place in Ichmeler, just a short water taxi ride from Marmaris. I did my OW course with them there a few years ago and they seemed a fairly professional outfit.

I agree with Stesh, I wouldn't stay in Marmaris if you paid me, it's far to big, busy and very commercial. It's also Chav central, Turkish style.
