Dive operators in La Gomera

Along with our trip to Tenerife we're going to spend 4 nights on La Gomera, and hopefully do three days diving. La Gomera is not near as touristy (thank goodness ), and doesn't have a lot of dive operators.

The only ones I found are:
http://www.dive-art.com/
http://www.gomera-dive-resort.com/
http://www.fischco.de/

Does anyone have any experience with these? Any other ones that I missed?

Thanks,

Darryl

I have a very good book called "Diving in Canaries" by Sergio Hanquet - pretty much the bible of diving in the Canaries. It lists 3 dive schools in Gomera (the list is a few years old), which includes the second and third on your list, and also...

Tauchschule GomeraDivers - Armin Lange - La Gomera

Is there any reason why you've chosen La Gomera? I've never been, but from what I understand it's not that great for diving. El Hierro on the other hand is excellent. Much better than Tenerife - big marine reserve, drops off into the deep ocean rapidly so there are huge walls, as well as big pelagic fish, manta rays, sharks etc.

If I can't tempt you into going to El Hierro (which you really, really should!) I can scan and email the pages from the above book about Gomera. Let me know if you're want em.

On another note, I've been to Tenerife a lot (I was there for the past fortnight!) and I always dive with Geoff Richardson at Undersea Adventures. I'll admit straightaway that he's my girlfriends dad! He's also a really decent, chilled out bloke, and he'll do whatever kind of diving you want. When I was there this time I had an hour and a quarter dive with 20 mins of deco, exploring a massive new reef he'd found recently.
Cheers

Is he still diving in a shortie all winter? I have dived on quite a few occassions with Geoff when he was working out of the now defunct Tenesub in Las Galletas. His Panda would go anywhere. I remember once doing a shore dive with him when we had to go along the cliff edges in a car, he set off in his Panda and Carlos (our driver and dive guide) was driving us in a Shogun, Carlos shat himself with the route Geoff took and he was in a big 4X4!

Priceless. Next time you speak to him, give him my regards will you please?

Is he still living in Los Abrigos?

Regards

Hopper

Hey hopper! It's a pleasure to meet a happy customer...

Yep, still in Los Abrigos. We stayed with him for the past ten days.
Funnily enough he was diving in a full suit, which is unusual, but then he's getting on a bit! I had a 5mm steamer on and I was freezing. And he's got a Nissan Patrol now, so there are now no limits to the seemingly inaccessible dive sites he can get to!

I'll certainly pass on your regards - what name would he know you by?

Wow - Nissan Patrol, Luxury!!!

Geoff would know me as Michael (Hopkins). Good dives & good memories, I still want to see the view from his place. It sound fantastic. You couldn't get nearer to the sea if you tried by all accounts. High tides and floods in his basement??!!

As I said, pass on my regards please. If I'm not being too rude he reminds me very much of the Grizzly Adams of the Tenerife dive scene - Deep inside the sea is a door into your living room!! Nice guy, great dives - what more is there to say?
