Question Cyprus water temp at the moment?

Hi,

Off to Cyprus for the weekend to dive the Z, anyone know what the water temp is out there at the moment?

Basically, this is a drysuit vs wetsuit related question

Cheers,
dan

Same temperatures in Limassol last Saturday. No problem for an hours dive in a 5mm wetsuit.

But has'nt Martin become a warm water woss since he moved to Cyprus?

I rember doing 45-60 minute hangs with him in the NDC in jan/feb cos there was no where else to dive and not thinking twice about the temp.

I dived the Zenobia on Friday. It was 20+ on the surface and 19 at depth according to my computer.

My instructor was using a (rather leaky) drysuit, I had a 5mm wetsuit which wasn't a perfect fit and I was chilly after about half an hour on the first dive. I wore a hood with it on the second dive which reduced the water flushing through it as well as keeping me generally warmer and was still fine after 40 mins.

I'd say that a wetsuit would be fine, especially if yours fits well. There was a guy on the boat with us diving in a shortie (mind you he did have a layer of insulation of his own....).

Looks like it'll be the wetsuit, then. Which is a shame, because I much prefer my drysuit (it has shrunk around the stomach area), but I don't fancy kitting up in that heat!

Cheers all,
dan
