Cool

OC are excellent, have dived regularly with them for years - and sadly we have to pay full price (school holidays....) but still worth every penny and we wouldn't keep going back if they were rubbish.

Definitely book your diving up front it's about half the price of booking locally, you can do it on-line now so you could leave it until the very last minute - literally.

As the dive centre is part of the hotel it makes check in and pick ups painless and you can even check in on line and reserve kit etc.

We were there for the end of May half term and it was unusually quiet in town, no Russians or Italians to speak of but very hot, 34C overnight - but conditions brilliant and first rate diving I would expect some of the big stuff is starting to show up now.

I came home yesterday from diving with Ocean college and staying at the Ocean bay hotel.

I did'nt book my diving in advance and they stung me for £214 for 7 dives

but there dive set up is quite good, and the ocean bay hotel is fairly basic, but clean and quiet.

If going to sharm again, I'd probably dive with Emperor again, very professional outfit

OC are very good - but also check out Camel. They are both very well run operations.

I have used Ocean College several times and would recommend them. Pay for your dive pack before you go or you will have to pay the inflated local price.

i'm going to Ocean Club from 27/6 to 4/7 if you're there then? Ocean College are great but definately book in advance, a 6 day dive pack, 2 dives per day is £155 I think. Extra charges for 3rd dive of the day, night dives, Dunraven or Thistlegorm trips etc.
Cheers
Steve

We had a weeks diving in Nov last year with Ocean College (we stayed at whichever one of ocean club or ocean bay is closest to town - never did quite get to grips with that one!) I was really impressed, but it was my first overseas trip, so I might not be best qualified to judge!

Prices seemed reasonable (all booked by much more experienced travellers than me, so went with their recommendations) - everything was sorted out in advance. There were a couple of days where we didn't get a chance for the third dive because of lengthy waits for boats in the morning, but I think that was just due to volume of divers there that week rather than any fault of OC.

True test was when one of our group's kit didn't make it onto the boat. Steve, our dive guide, and the guy in charge of the equipment store at the marina held the boat up for us and hunted high & low until they found the missing kit. It would have been easy for them to leave us behind and just offer a refund on the day's diving, but the fact that they did everything in their power to sort it out means that I would definitely recommend them.

Sorry, that was a bit of a lengthy reply! Hope you have a fab time whoever you go with .
Cath
