| Anyone have experience of the diving to be had out in Gib..? We met with the Divegib guys at LIDS and have been looking into planning a trip out there; great climate, location, easy to get to, etc.. Even the possibility of diving the wreck of an Italian Chariot from WWII - reputed to be the one Buster Crabb was involved with..! Just wondered if anyone has an insight into the diving there, and any other useful info for planning the trip... TIA, Solent DiveGib |

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>Met them as well at Lids and very tempted to go there, however in Easter My mrs and I decided to go to Cabo de Palos instead (Eastern Spain). Have a look at the BSAC travel site which has a report on Gib Gibraltar Been to Gib before but not for diving, its a great place and surprisingly a lot to do for such a small area. As for the diving if its as good as they say then its well worth giving it a try. Just remember its not the Med!

| Imported post I'm going to the Costa del Sol in June and plan on diving Gib at least one day. I have heard it is fantastic with plenty of history, wrecks etc. If youre not going before then I'll let you know how we get on. This site looks worth the effort www.divegib.gi (sorry I can't get the 'link' thing working) |

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>Have been diving in Gib several times and am off there again in May. Not as warm as the med but more fish life and the wrecks are excellent. Loads of dolphins around but I've never seen them underwater. I have always been warm enough in a 5ml semi even after an hour. Viz is usually + 10 metres although it can be reduced at times. Topside the weather is great and since its a duty free port the alcohol flows freely. Accommodation can be expensive unless you know where to go. It is possible to stay over the border in Spain and come in every day but the border crossing delays can be a pain in the neck. I always dive with Steve at Divehire and he can give you info on cheap accommodation if you need it. When I booked last time it was cheaper to fly with BA than with Monarch but you need to check each website to see what special deals are available for the time you wish to travel. If you want any further info I will be happy to help. http://www.divehire.co.uk |
