Diving in Jamaica - which dive kit to get?

Yeah we dived with Jamaqua from Club Caribean at Runaway bay (just along the coast from Ocho Rios). The people were lovely and we all enjoyed it. They were  pretty relaxed .

Iv just come back from ocho rios 21 dives in 28 deg water with the kit situation it would depend on where you are stopping I stayed at Beaches and all kit was included If you want full info send me a pm or e mail with a contact phone number and I will give you a ring

what was the weather like? when we went at christmas it pissed with rain half the time.

We had 1 hour of rain in 2 weeks 32 to 36 deg temp blue sky but windy on the shore line bril holliday stayed at beaches grand sport a sandals resort all inc with all diving included however it was very much a resort holliday when we went outside the resort I felt that I was taking me life in my hands and I get enough of that at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dive staff were brill so if they are reading this they owe me a pint.I have to say the yanks were a bit of a pain.

I've also been looking at one of the other topics on this forum and perhaps a 3mm suit might be more appropriate taking into account all the nasties that could in the water at the same time, there's one I've seen with detachable arms for just under £100

i was unfortunate enough to visit sandals mo bay just in time for independance day and just about everything was stars and stripes.

and if todd of NY swiped my mask off again whilst doing the under water breast stroke, i swear i might of done something unspeakable.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dived last year at Negril with scubacaribe - very good, relaxed and with modern kit - all scubapro. &nbsp;If they operate around Ocho Rios I would recommend them. &nbsp;May be worth checking the PADI website?

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Two tips: take a computer for your own wellbeing and avoid diving with Americans who have c-cards but only dive once a year. &nbsp;Scary to watch.

Got stung big time as I brushed the shotline, so a 3 mil shortie will protect the areas you really do not want to get stung ( I was using a sleeveless suit and got caught around the underarm - longest trip back from the divesite to the waiting vinegar I can remember, plus the ensuing 12 hours) but would think about a 3 mil full suit if we ever went back.
