Marsa Alam to Dahab

Hi all,

Has anyone travelled from Marsa Alam to Dahab before? I'm doing a liveaboard out of Marsa Alam in August and considering going onto Dahab after for a few days, but not having much luck on google etc figuring out the best way to get there? Internal flight / ferry etc?

It will always be a dreadful journey but the least expensive would be coach to Hurghada, ferry to sharm then coach to Dahab.
You could try for an internal flight to Cairo then change for one to Dahab.

There's no airport in Dahab. Also the internal flights from Marsa Alam to Cairo are currently suspended.

The best way to do it is to go to Hurghada, take either the ferry or the plane to Sharm, then take a cab or a bus to Dahab.

Have to admit to doing this route a couple of times myself and love it !

Have a word with whoever you are doing your liveaboard with and see if you can get a transfer straight to Hurghada after your tour (take it your on the Wednsday flight) grab a couple of nights in Hurghada perhaps, get the Saturday ferry at 8am, (or the Thursday 8am if you don't fancy HRG) and then a bus/taxi onto Dahab.

Its nice to get around.

Thanks guys, ferry from Hurghada sounds like the best way, just need to try and find a cheap flight back from Sharm now

Is there any specific reason for this?

Marsa Alam Airport is owned by a private group. I think they're not going well with Egypt Air.
