I think I am looking for something a bit more traditional. I thought this would have been a relativly easy answer, but obviously not. |

| I have been on numerous shore based and liveaboard trips as a single bloke and never had any issues. You are meeting people with similar interests and usually make some new friends. If you want something a bit more organised then I recommend this firm; Active Adventures My trip was to Lanzarote but they also do Sharm and Dahab. The socialising was every bit as good as the diving and not in a cheesy or awkward way either. Last edited by Darren555 : 09-10-07 at 03:07 PM. |

| a liveaboard has no single person suplement, Ive been on two now as a single bloke, Ive met good crowds both times. speeddater.co.uk do diving weeks although I have never booked one (yet!) Think id rather just go on a liveaboard myself and have a laugh with the folks on board. Davie

| hello, I've been away a few times on my own, liveaboards and land based. Liveaboards are a fab option, when you phone up they, ask the mix of people already booked on to find out if there's lots of couples or a group. The three liveaboards I did were a mixture and have made some fab friends. If you want land based I'd recommend Red Sea Relax in Dahab (www.red-sea-relax.com). I've stayed there a couple of times on my own. The dive centre has a hotel, and you can stay for free in their Dorm accommodation if you dive with them, so no single supplement. The guys at the dive centre are so friendly and there's always someone to hang out with. I'll be there mostly through Nov and Dec. Am taking a mini sabbatical and making that my base, as well as spending some time in other resorts, doing some siteseeing etc. Jen |
