I've been there - Dakar and Djinak, aswell as Banjul, Serekunda and Kololi, Gambia. I didn't dive when I went over. I don't think anyone dives over there - the Atlantic conditions are too unpredictable and the water isn't exactly clear! Maybe a little further offshore, I don't know. There are some dodgy areas in Dakar that I wouldn't even contemplate going into, the villages around the mangroves are interesting. Seeing the poverty over there is a real eye opener, it makes places like Birmingham look half decent ( The people are friendly generally - they are going to be. They all want your money! |
