Senegal - Does Anyone Have Any Info?

I have been given the chance to go out and commission a site in Senegal and was wondering if anyone had dived there?

The winter sun would come in handy and if there's diving to be had then I'll take the site.

Would like to take the rebreather out there but think that may be asking a bit much unless I can ship some lime out and get some O2 over there.

Does anyone have any experience with the place?

I've been there - Dakar and Djinak, aswell as Banjul, Serekunda and Kololi, Gambia.

I didn't dive when I went over.

I don't think anyone dives over there - the Atlantic conditions are too unpredictable and the water isn't exactly clear! Maybe a little further offshore, I don't know.

There are some dodgy areas in Dakar that I wouldn't even contemplate going into, the villages around the mangroves are interesting.

Seeing the poverty over there is a real eye opener, it makes places like Birmingham look half decent ()

The people are friendly generally - they are going to be. They all want your money!
