scubatech Of the others, I've been to Aruba. Make sure you do the Antilla. All the dive places seemed fairly similar, but my report is here: Aruba Trip Report, September 2003 Don't imagine there's much worth diving in Acapulco. Jason

| Are you going on a cruise? Who else would go to Panama canal in any other way? :-) In any case for Panama the best place I can thinkl of diving is at Bocos de Toro Islands near Costa Ricva border on the caribean side.

Thanks for the info - i have a month and a bit to get things sorted - as you can imagine you don't have an endless amount of time so i want to see if i can sync diving with the time i have off ship. There is a dive offered on the cruise but its a "one tank" dive at two sites and they have the cheek to charge £75 Eddy

| This was back in 1995/6 when I was travelling across Central America and when I took up diving. I went to Limon (in Costa Rica) and found it to be one of the roughest, most dangerous places I've been - and I've been to some weird places like Bangui in Central African Republic. The druggies were everywhere, either collapsed on the floor or shooting on the park. In the central park in any city one expects pigeons, there there were vultures! It was so dangerous that rather than staying overnight I got a taxi to the Panamanian boorder. It must be quite different now otherwise I can't expect a cxruise to stop there but interest to hear your views. Hope you get to grab some good dives. Panama Canal is fanatastic by the way, especially going through the locks. Havn't been on cruises but would suggest not to follow the crowd after docking and try to do something independently - such as diving!
